Healthy Eating for Under 5’s

Babies and Toddler also need to eat a varied diet – just like the rest of the family!

Here are some of the key foods your little one should be having:

Fruit and vegetables

Bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and other starchy foods

Milk, dairy and dairy alternatives

Cheese

Beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat and other proteins

Providing a varied diet, targeting these food groups will ensure your child is getting enough:

vitamins

minerals

fiber

energy

protein

calcium

iron

Here are some of the food your little one needs less of:

 - Sugar

It's important to keep the added sugar in your child's diet low to help prevent tooth decay.

- Salt

You don't need to add salt to your child's food because most foods already have enough
